  1. Forget diets: surgery is the only solution, says expert

DIETS can never help the overweight become slim; the only option is surgery, an expert on weight loss claims.

    The Australian

    NOTES :

  • The body "accepts" the new weight and tries to restore any as possible.
  • When people become fat, every thing in their bodies changed.
  • The best way to tackle the obesity is to set up networks of fat clinics .
  • Removing the need for drugs, for diabeties people.
  • The cost of surgery would be recouped within a year.

Summary:

When people become fat and whant to loss weight after that, their body will try to restor the losses quickly. Professor Finer suggests that the best way to tackle the obesity is to set up fat clinics to carry out mass programs of gastric bypass surgery. this program will remove the need for drugs for diabeties people and it will be more cheaper and more suitable for them.

Personal reflections:

I think lossing weigh takes a long time time and cost alot and in some cases it is near to impossible so it will be good to have a network fat clinics. It will be hopeful for all obese people.

Global 'superbug' fears grow as Japan joins list of infected

JAPAN has become the latest country to report an infection of bacteria carrying the NDM-1 "superbug" gene that is spreading throughout the world from its apparent origin in India

NOTES :

  • The bacteria is resistant to almost all antibiotics.
  • The NDM-1 gene has been detected , which without the gene is normally harmless.
  • The superbug is thought to be able to spread from one kind of intestinal bacteria to another.

  • The gene could jump between strains of bacteria through horizontal gene transfer

SUMMARY :

The gene in the super bug could jump between strains of barcteria and this will be difficult to find an antibiotic that is effective on the bacteria. The bacteria founded in Tokyo it came from India so it is major issue because many of people go to India to do cosmetic surgery so the superbug will spread around the world quickly.

PERSONAL REFLECTION :

It is a global issue and all hospitals and resposible organs should take necessary instruction to prevent spreading this bactria it will have economic effects
